Ruth Mary Williams Tillett

Ruth Mary Williams Tillett

A much loved mother, wife, and friend, Ruth Mary (Williams) Tillett, of Harrisburg, PA lost her courageous battle with a long illness on Sunday, June 24, 2012, amidst her family. 

Ruth was a loving woman of great strength and humor.  She brought joy to all those who crossed her path in life and had a kind word for everyone. Above all else, she was devoted to her family. Ruth was an avid gardner, excellent cook, great golfer and enjoyed bowling.  She was a willing sailor and enthusiastic reader.   She was a long time volunteer at the Harrisburg Food Pantry. 

Ruth was born in 1925 and married to her high school sweetheart Robert C. Tillett, her husband of 63- years. She graduated from Upper Darby High School and went on to graduate from Drexel University. Ruth and her husband spent the past 20 years in Harrisburg and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina She was an active member of the Little Chapel on the Boardwalk, Wilmington Historical Society, Azalea Festival, and Wilmington Food Bank. 

Ruth is survived by her children: Robert C. Tillett Jr., Tracey Tillett, Laura & Frank Whitcomb,  Mitchell Tillett and Stephen Patton, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert C. Tillett and daughter Suzanne Patton. 

There will be no viewing. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 28,2012 at 1:00pm at Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg.  Rev. David Biser will be officiating. A luncheon will follow where the Tillett Family will receive family and friends.
